Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell (SEDDG) - Overview

Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell (SEDDG)

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell (SEDDG) is established to promote inclusive practices in the academic, administrative, and co-curricular domains of the institution. It ensures that students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds receive the support and opportunities they need to succeed in higher education.

The cell operates in alignment with national education policy guidelines, particularly those that aim to uplift Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), minorities, first-generation learners, and economically weaker sections (EWS).

Objectives of the SEDDGC

  • ???? To provide equal access to academic resources and opportunities for disadvantaged students.

  • ???? To implement and monitor inclusive policies related to admissions, scholarships, and campus support.

  • ???? To identify and support first-generation learners and students from rural, low-income, and marginalized communities.

  • ???? To create an environment free from discrimination, bias, and exclusion.

  • ???? To provide capacity-building programs aimed at academic, social, and professional empowerment.
