Dr CSN Degree and PG College, Bhimavaram hasagoodlibrarywithlargecollectionofbooksincludingbothReference books and Textbooks. The library is divided into various sections for smooth functioning. Students areencouraged to visit library to read books, magazines, etc., prepare notes, project reports, etc., supporting theirlearningprocess.

Vision:

Incorporating latest technology and creating a knowledge hub to support all stakeholders of the College byproviding access to the widest possible spectrum of information resources such as digital, online databases, printand non-print materials relevant to the curricular, informational and innovative research needs of the academiccommunity', thus providing the Right Information to the Right User at the Right Time and in the Right Format.


Mission:

Integrating all the existing open-access digitized and digital contents across the globe to provide a single-windowaccess with e-learning facility to different groups of users to serve the dynamic information needs of students andstaff so as to support them to achieve their highest academic potential and help them acquire research skillsnecessaryforlifelonglearning.


Objectives:

  • To acquire,organize and up date library resources and services to support the changing demand sof the curricular, instructional, and research programs of the academic community, thus strengthening teaching-learning process.
  • To establish a computer infrastructure of all library operations and services by acquiring librarycomputersoftware andhardware tomake computerizationfunctional;
  • Tocreateanatmospherewhereinstudentsandfacultymaycarryonthelearningprocessenjoyableandmotivatingthemtoreadbeyondtheircurricularrequirements.
  • Toprovideinstructionandassistanceintheeffectiveuseoflearningresources/services
  • To work with faculty in integrating information skills ,knowledge of information sources, and the useof technology in accessing information needed to strengthen their instruction, research and extensionprogrammes


Central Library, A Gateway to the Knowledge Repositories, is one of the central supportservices of Dr CSN Degree and PD College, Bhimavaram. It was established in the year1991 with an initial collection 2650 books and presently available books 9359.   6. Brar Vision: E-Resources Section for Visually Challenged Students – This section has twocomputersandheadphonesforassistingthevisuallychallengedstudentstousecomputersforaccessingonline resourcesontheinternetas wellas speciallydesignedtalkingbooksande-books.

Periodicals Section – This section houses journals, magazines, newspapers, question papersets. Students are issued the above materials for reading room use only. This section has open access for students and faculty as  well as neighbouring public.


Computerizationof theLibrary:

The library network comprises one server and 2 nodes. The Library uses the GURUKUL. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) provides access to the bibliographic database. WebOPACand Mobile OPACservices are offered to facilitate the user community to search the library resources fromanywhere and at any time. provided Students are issued bar-coded library cards at the beginning of the academicyear. New arrivals are processed, bar-coded and made available for circulation in their respective sections. Booksnot in regular use, i.e. the passive collection, are being bar-coded in a phased manner. Circulation activities tostudentsas wellas staffhavebeenautomated.
